Billy Ray Blair, age 80, a resident of Basin Community, Elba, Alabama passed away at his home Sunday, June 23, 2019 following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Blair was born in the Pine Level community, Elba, Alabama on May 14, 1939 to parents Haston Blair and Fleetie Wise Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John D. Blair and J. P. Blair, and sisters Flay Blair and Willie Mae Blocker.

Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia Blair, brother James (Linda) Blair of Elba, AL, and sister - in - law Gwendolyn (Daniel) Wright and Susan (James) Whidden of Arcadia, FL., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As requested by Mr. Blair his body has been donated to the University of Alabama School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A Special thanks to Kindred Hospice for all their loving care.
