Billy Joel Reeves, age 78, of Elba, Alabama, departed this life on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Alabama.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a future date.

Billy was an uncomplicated, generous man who found joy in the simple things—family, friends, and the everyday moments that make a life full. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his kindness, and the steady love he shared with those around him.

He is survived by his son, Daniel (Diane) Reeves of Enterprise, AL; his daughter, Amy (Dan) Bell of Farmington, AR; his grandchildren, River Reeves of Enterprise, AL, Parker Wood of Enterprise, AL, Avery Bell of Enterprise, AL, and Audrey Bell of Farmington, AR; and his sisters, Cathy Odom, Linda Farris, and Judy Johnson, all of Elba, AL.

Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama, is serving the Reeves family.
