Roy Ellis "Buddy" King age 65, a resident of Jack, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his home. Memorial services will be held at Zion Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Zion Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Buddy will be remembered for his love of sports, whether it was refereeing local youth sports, cheering on his favorite team, or serving as a commentator for the Elba Tigers, he was always on or near the field. When he was not a a local game, he could be found casting a line in a favorite fishing hole, or at a nearby golf course working to improve his stroke. Buddy was always active, and a proud supporter of local athletics.
He leaves behind his wife, Selena King, son, Roy (Clare) B. King of San Antonio, TX, along with his sister, Dixann King and brother-in-law, Jake Batchelor of Elba, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Ann and Roy King.
