Carolyn June Daughtry, age 83, of Jack, Alabama, departed this life on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Troy Regional Hospital surrounded by love. Funeral services will be held at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Remonia Smith officiating. Committal services will follow in the Chestnut Grove Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Daughtry devoted 25 years to teaching in the Coffee County School System, where she touched countless young lives with patience, kindness, and a genuine love for education. She later became the co-owner and operator of Elba Florist & Gift alongside her husband of 49 years, Bill. Together, they poured their hearts into their work, blessing their community with creativity, generosity, and a spirit of service. Bill and Carolyn shared a deep affection not only for their family and friends, but also for the four‑legged companions who brought joy into their home.
She is survived by her loving family Niece – Cindy Daniels, Samson, AL; Niece – Nan (Nathan) Elliott, Samson, AL; Nephew – Lamar (Starr) Daniels, Auburn, AL; Nephew – Mark Daniels, Tuscaloosa, AL; Sister‑in‑law – Ouida Cotton, Jack, AL.
Mrs. Daughtry will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and her unwavering commitment to her community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through teaching, her business, and her everyday acts of kindness.
