Dorothe H. Hill of Lakeland, Florida passed away Thursday, January 30, due to natural causes.

Born in Elba, Alabama, she moved to Lakeland, Florida on September 1, 1971. She married Dr. Raymond Hill of Luverne, Alabama on December 20, 1951. They were together almost 70 years. After moving to Lakeland, Dorothe worked in retail sales. During retirement she always had plenty to do and was busy baking, sewing, gardening or playing a game of dominos. She was the "Welcome Wagon" of her neighborhood, making sure everyone knew she and Raymond were the helpers. She lovingly decorated their home for each holiday so they were always ready to receive and celebrate with family and friends. Of course, Saturdays were happily dedicated to the University of Alabama football games.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marilyn Sue McGinty (Daniel); daughters, Darleen Garcia (Lubin) and Ramona Chormann; grandchildren, Alyssia Totten (Scott), Nicole Richardson (Johnathon), Kylee Chormann, and Kathryn Lopez (Chris); plus, six great-grandchildren.

Dorothe was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. Raymond Hill; son, Joe R. Hill; grandson, Tyler Callaway; mother, Mary Alice Whitman; and brother, James (Jimmy) H. Harper.

Graveside services will be held from Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kirby Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 10:45AM at Hayes Funeral Home prior to services.
