Obituary

Earlene Sue Jacobs, age 92, a cherished woman known for her warm heart and skilled hands, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a simple life full of love.  She spent many days crocheting baby blankets, Afghans, hats, and scarves. Through this hobby she expressed her love and creativity, gifting us with countless memories in every stitch.

She found her greatest joy in cooking for her family, her kitchen always filled with home-cooked meals and the sound of shared stories. Her tales of the old days with her added touch of humor filled our days with laughter.

An avid reader, she traveled through the pages of many boxes of books.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, reflected in her love for old gospel music, the melodies of which resonated with the strength and depth of her spirit. An expert player of chicken foot, she taught us that life, much like the game, is best enjoyed with strategy, persistence, and a sense of fun. She was an independent woman with a love for life and adventure.

Her generosity knew no bounds, and she spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with unconditional love.

As we say, "see you later" to the one we call "Momma", "Maw Maw", "Granny" and "Friend", we will celebrate the legacy of her love, the warmth of her presence and hugs, and the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to comfort us. Her spirit, like the softest yarn, will forever be intertwined with the fabric of the ones who loved her most.

Earlene was preceded in death by her husband Lamar Jacobs, her two sons Randall Keith Jacobs and Micheal Lamar Jacobs, and her parents Earlie and Susie Anna Eddins.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon (John) Legg of Jack, Alabama, Granddaughter Megan (Shelby) Legg of Jack, Alabama, Grandson Jacob (Ciara) Legg Jack, Alabama, and the lights of her life her Great Grandchildren Cadence, Nora, John Austin, and Wilder Legg, and many other special relatives and friends.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our neighbors, friends, and the Enhabit Hospice providers who stood by our side during our loved one's final days. Your kindness, empathy, and unwavering support made a significant difference, and we are forever thankful.
