Edgar Sanders "Eddie" Prescott, age 73 of Jack, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 24, 2025, beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kenneth Hagler, Rev. Dustin Wisecarver, and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack Assembly of God Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Mr. Prescott will also in state for one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Eddie was a devoted husband, father, brother, Pops, and friend. He was a light to everyone around him. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Those who were fortunate enough to cross his path were no doubt left with an everlasting mark.
Eddie graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and business administration. He spent most of his life working in retail until retirement. Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and wood working.
Eddie was strong, determined, caring, and had a sense of humor like no other. He was a leader and had a heart of gold. Though we mourn his absence, we have peace in knowing we will see him again in Heaven someday.
He is survived by his wife: Jan Prescott, Jack, AL; children, Joshua Prescott, Jack, AL, Justin Prescott (Malloree),Jack, AL, and Kelsey Shiver (Jacob), Jack, AL; Sister, Marcia Perkins, Spring Hill, AL; Grandchildren, Sarah Bryson Skinner (Tanner), Troy, AL, Meri Cason Prescott, Jack, AL, Sophie and Finn Prescott, Jack, AL, Beau Wambles and Rhett Shiver, Jack, AL, numerous nieces and nephews and other family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Wambles, Derrick Deal, Ray Smith, Wes Bragg, Kevin Sheets, and Jonah Edmondson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lee Gideon and Fairlan Mobley.
