Eugene "Honest Gene" Mitchell Streetman, aged 83, of Elba, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 15, 2025. Eugene was a beloved member of the Elba community, known for his honesty and integrity.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Joan Streetman of Elba, AL; his son, Blake Streetman of Elba, AL; and his daughter, Brandy Streetman and her husband Jody Atwell of Elba, AL. Gene was a proud grandfather to Dalton James "DJ" Streetman and Brody Streetman, both of Elba, AL, and a cherished great-grandfather to Gwendolyn Streetman, also of Elba, AL. He is also survived by his brother, James "Jim" Streetman of Live Oak, FL; his sister, Judy Streetman Thomason and her husband Jerry Thomason of Springhill, TN; and his sister, Margaret and her husband Cecil Brooks of Durham, NC.

Funeral services will be held at Ino Baptist Church on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Garry Winstead officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on the same day from 12:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by private committal services. Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama, is serving the Streetman family during this time.
