Eva
Culverhouse
Apr 18, 1935 — Sep 18, 2025
Eva Smith Culverhouse, 90, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Eva led a life marked by kindness and a quiet elegance.
Born to Dora and William Smith in a small south Alabama community on April 18, 1935, Eva would establish her career and friendships in Birmingham, providing a loving home for her two children. Throughout their lives, she was a source of unconditional love and wise counsel.
Eva found joy in life's small pleasures, tending to the flowers in her garden and watching the birds, but her greatest joy in life was her family. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate their achievements, to comfort them in challenging times, or simply to listen with an open heart.
Eva is survived by her children Judy Culverhouse (Barclay) and Lann Moore (Vair); grandchildren Clay Church (Michelle) and Courtney Dell (Hal); and four great-grandchildren, Corey Church, EvaClaire Church, Caroline Dell, and Henry Dell. Eva was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Elba, Alabama with Rev. Howard Moore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a charity that is meaningful to you.
