Jacquelyn Smart "Jackie" Stinson, age 72, a resident of Elba, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at her home. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 7, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm with Mart Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Jackie was a 1971 graduate of Elba high School and continued her education at Troy State University. In 1973 she married David and together they welcomed three daughters, Heather, Holly and Suzanna. While motherhood was always her greatest calling, Jackie excelled at all her career endeavors and never met a stranger. She held various positions working at the Coffee County Courthouse, Elba Pallet Mill and the Elba Post Office. Her career with the postal service spanned more than two decades, during which she became a familiar and well-loved presence. Locals enjoyed seeing Jackie, and she formed many lasting friendships through her years of service.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Heather Stinson of Elba, AL; Holly (Andrew) Wood of Elba, AL; Suzanna (Che Vaughn) Stinson of Montgomery, AL; her granddaughters, Kaelyn (Rance) Hill of Jack, AL; and Sarah Kate Jordan of Milledgeville, GA; great grandchildren, Flint Ellzey, Gaston Hill and Troy-Taylor Hill, all of Jack, AL. She is also survived by her brother, Mark (Linda) Smart of Warner Robins, GA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Stinson, her sister, Sherri Manning and her parents, Donna and Jack Smart.
