Jake Link Smith age 18, a resident of the Zion Chapel Community passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Jack, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, August 4, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ashley Faulk officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Mill Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Hayes Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday evening, August 3, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family request the omission of flowers and ask memorials be made to the Zion Chapel Marching band in his honor, c/o Zion Chapel Band Boosters, 29256 Hwy 87, Jack, AL 36346.

Jake was a loving son, brother and uncle. As the youngest of four siblings, Jake was the heart of the family. He had a kind loving soul and contagious smile. Jake always spent time with family and friends, and his friends always turned into family. He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather, Bobby Carnley.

Jake also leaves behind a loving and devoted girlfriend Jordan Morrow of Elba, AL. He was blessed to have extended families that loved him as their own, William, Janna, and Tray Morrow, Elba, AL, and Corey, Meghan, Preston, and Jordan Millay also of Elba. He also leaves behind his best friend since kindergarten, Hunter Sheets.
