Janice
Daugherty
Apr 16, 1950 — Jun 25, 2026
Janice Deen Daugherty, age 76, of Enterprise, Alabama, entered her eternal rest on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Janice was a woman whose quiet strength, steady kindness, and deep devotion to those she loved shaped every chapter of her life.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Janice's greatest joy was found in her family. She shared a lifetime of companionship with her husband, Claude Donald "Donnie" Daugherty, and she poured her heart into raising her son, Chuck, and later into the lives of her grandchildren. Whether she was offering a word of encouragement, lending a listening ear, or simply being present, Janice had a way of making others feel supported and understood.
Her grandchildren—Bailey (Bailey), Keeley (Kelsey), and Sky (Leah) and her Great Grandchildren Benntt and Elijah—were the light of her later years. She followed their lives with pride, celebrated their accomplishments, and loved them with a tenderness that left a lasting imprint on each of them. Her family will forever remember her gentle humor, her patience, and the way she made every gathering feel like home.
Janice carried both strength and grace through life's joys and sorrows, including the loss of her daughter, Brook. Her resilience, rooted in love and faith, became a quiet example to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brook Daugherty; her father, James Paul Brooks; her mother, Lovia Smith Brooks; and her brother, Lamar Brooks. Though she has left this earthly home, the legacy she leaves behind—of love, steadiness, and devotion—will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with those who went before her, and held in the everlasting care of her Heavenly Father.
