Jerry Michael Kirkland, 76, of Elba, Alabama, went to be with his Lord on January 17, 2026. He was a warm, loving, and kind Christian man whose life reflected his deep faith and love for others.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Elba Church of Christ in Elba. Minister Greg Hanchey will officiate, alongside Jerry's son-in-law, David Turner due to possible weather concerns.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Annis Kirkland of Elba, Alabama, and his brother-in-law, Fred Tillman of Valparaiso, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teresa Kirkland of Elba, Alabama; his daughter, Amy (David) Kirkland Turner of Millbrook, Alabama; his granddaughter, Addy Turner of Millbrook, Alabama; his sister, Dianne Tillman of Valparaiso, Florida; and many beloved friends and extended family members.
Jerry attended Curtis School and often shared fond memories of his time there before graduating from Elba High School in 1968. He owned and operated H&R Block before spending 30 years as an Alfa Insurance agent. Jerry will be remembered for his love of others, his faithfulness, his servant's heart, and his quick wit, as he never met a stranger he could not joke around with.
