Jo Sue Sasser, aged 83, of Elba, AL, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Elba Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elba, Alabama. She was a dedicated nurse who touched the hearts and lives of numerous people throughout her career at Elba General Hospital.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Monroe Sasser of Elba, AL; her sons, James David (David's Phyllis) Sasser of Elba, AL, and Charles Bruce (Bruce's Phyllis) Sasser; her grandchildren, Stephanie Christina (Mark) Tucker of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Christopher Alan (Sarah) Sasser of Andalusia, AL; her sister, Dinah Kay (Daryl) Thomas of Alexander City, AL; her brother, James (Debbie) Pike of Alexander City, AL; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Grace Sasser of Mobile, AL, Jamison Carter Sasser of Dothan, AL, Sawyer Rae Sasser of Dothan, AL, David William Tucker of Tuscaloosa, AL, Amie (Dalton) Jones of TX, and Sadie Jones of TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurston and Donna Pike; her brothers, Don and Kenneth Pike; her sisters, Donna Faye Mask and Jeannette Alweine; and her brother-in-law, Earl Mask.

Graveside services will be held at New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Joe Farris officiating. Committal services will follow in the New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama, is serving the Sasser family.
