John B Barley

John Bruce Barley, age 69, of New Brockton, Alabama, departed this life on Friday, July 24, 2026, at his home in New Brockton. After a long and bitter battle with cancer, John has joined his Maker, finding the peace and rest he so richly deserves. A man deeply connected to the land, he devoted his life to the beauty and labor of growing crops, taking pride in the nature that surrounded him. His earthly struggles have ended, and he now relishes in the glory of the life beyond.

No formal services will be held at this time.

He is survived by his sister, Ann B. (Danny) Jernigan of New Brockton, AL; his brother, Jerry (Darlene) Barley of New Brockton, AL; along with several nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama, is serving the Barley family.
