Carolyn "Juanita" Carpenter 87 of Elba, AL departed this life Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her home in Elba, Alabama. Graveside services will be held at Pine Level Community Cemetery on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Donnie Marler officiating. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Carpenter was a teacher for 30 + years, most of which at Kinston High School. She enjoyed growing flowers, reading, and sewing, but mostly enjoyed traveling the 48 states with her Husband and friends.

Survivors include: Husband - Thomas "Sam" Carpenter, Elba, AL, Daughter - Connie (Scott) Smith, Eclectic, AL, Son - La Vaughn (Cathie) Carpenter, Elba, AL, Sister - Mildred Helms, Kinston, AL, Brother - Sonny Bryan, Graceville, FL, Granddaughter - Carolyn (Ryan) Barefield, Huntsville, AL, Granddaughter - Amanda (Mark) Kremer, Greenville, SC, Grandson - LT Ethan Carpenter, USN, Norfolk, VA, Granddaughter - Isabel Carpenter, Troy, AL, Great Granddaughter - Emma Barefield, Huntsville, AL, Great Granddaughter - Abigail Barefield, Huntsville, AL, and Great Grandson - Cash Kremer, Greenville, SC. Special gratitude for the care and kindness shown during Mrs. Carpenter's illness to Tina Johnson, Elba, AL and Helen Thigpen, Elba, AL, First Choice Hospice and to Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama for serving the Carpenter Family.
