Mae Leen Pynes, age 89, of Brantley, Alabama, departed this life on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Scott Donaldson officiating. Committal services will follow in the Weed Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Pynes was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She carried a gentle spirit and a steady strength, and her kindness touched everyone who knew her. Her 71‑year marriage to her husband stands as a testament to her loyalty, her love, and the deep commitment she held for those closest to her.

She is survived by her husband James Carlton Pynes of Brantley, AL; her daughter, Tammy Donaldson (Scott) of Brantley, AL; her son, Tony Pynes (Charlotte) of Brantley, AL; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great‑grandchildren.

Mrs. Pynes was preceded in death by her father, James Rufus Kidd; her mother, Savannah Velma Spivey Kidd; her son, David Pynes; five brothers; and one sister.

Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama, is serving the Pynes family.
