Chandler
Nov 2, 1925 — Feb 24, 2026
Margaret Taylor Chandler, age 100, a beloved resident of Jack, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Medical Center Enterprise.
Funeral services will be held at Roeton Baptist Church on Saturday, February 28, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM with Dr. Malone Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The family has requested the omission of flowers, and requests memorials to be made to Roeton Baptist Church in her memory.
Mrs. Chandler worked for Merchants National Bank in Mobile. AL for over 25 years and was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church before she moved back to Coffee County.
Affectionately known to her family as "Bubba," Mrs. Chandler was a woman of remarkable strength and quiet resilience. Having lived through the Great Depression, she developed lifelong habits of gratitude, resourcefulness, and an unwavering contentment with the simple blessings of life. Her southern charm, warm humor, and genuine love for others endeared her to all who knew her. She will be remembered as a steady presence, a storyteller, and a cherished matriarch whose influence will echo for generations.
She leaves behind her son, Marion E. Chandler, III, and daughter-in-law, Joy Chandler, of Mobile, Alabama; two granddaughters, Christen Marie Chandler of Daphne, Alabama, and Penelope Chandler of Mobile, Alabama; along with several great-grandchildren, great-great -grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love and faith.
Mrs. Chandler was also blessed with her devoted "Earth Angels"—Anna Hooks (18 years), Penny Price (10 years), and Keetra Carter (3 1/2 years). These extraordinary women became part of the family, providing exceptional care, companionship, and compassion. Their presence was a true gift from God during Bubba's later years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Eugene Chandler, Jr., along with her daughter, Charlotte Chandler, by a son, Donald E. Chandler, along with her parents, Grace and Walter Lorenza Taylor.
A special thank you to all the nurses and doctors in the Medical Center Enterprise ER and ICU who provided compassionate care to our precious loved one.
Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama, is serving the Chandler family.
