Marshall Hayes
Vaughan
Oct 8, 1987 — Aug 3, 2024
Marshall Hayes Vaughan 36 of Elba, AL departed this life Saturday, August 3, 2024 at his home in Elba, Alabama. Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ronald Nunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Hayes was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. As the youngest in the family, he was always cherished and adored by his parents and older siblings. He had a natural gift for friendship, maintaining connections from grade school through adulthood and continuously making new friends along the way. Hayes embraced everyone, regardless of age, race, or beliefs, with genuine affection.
After graduating from Zion Chapel High School in 2007, Hayes pursued a career in healthcare, working as a CNA at Elba General Hospital and Nursing Home, and later at Mizzell Memorial Hospital in Opp. Eventually, he found his true calling at Birdsong Peanut in Opp, where he enjoyed working outdoors and being part of his "Birdsong family."
Hayes had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs and cats, whom he considered his "fur babies." He often drove around town with his dog Izzy in the front seat, both grinning from ear to ear.
Living with his dad, Jimmy, Hayes was a devoted son and caretaker. He had a knack for keeping their home neat and tidy and took pride in maintaining their yard.
Always cheerful, Hayes had a great sense of humor, a willingness to help others, and a love for movies, especially scary ones.
Though he grew up going by his middle name, Hayes, many friends knew him as Marshall. After he began his first job, he was listed by his first name, Marshall. He decided not to correct it, as he thought it was cool; kind of like a second identity. Only something my silly brother would do. But whether you knew him as Marshall or Hayes, he was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
