Obituary

Mary Evelyn Lee Hall moved from her earthly life to eternal life on June 28, 2021 in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Mary was born in Coffee County, the fourth surviving child of Edward Broughton Lee and Evelyn Baxley Lee.  She made her profession of faith at Elba United Methodist Church, and graduated from Elba High School during World War II.  After graduation, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she was employed as a legal secretary.  In 1947, she married Walter F. Hall, a Presbyterian minister in Jacksonville. They served churches in Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina.   Mary returned often to Elba to visit her parents and siblings.  After her husband retired, the couple returned to the west coast of Florida.  Mary moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2003.

Mary was an accomplished hostess, cook, seamstress, and gardener, and a loving wife and mother.  She was deeply appreciated by each congregation she and her husband served. She enjoyed time outdoors, travelling, and learning new things.  Throughout her long life, she took pleasure in observing the natural world.

Graveside services will be held Thursday July 8, 2021 at 3:30 from the family plot in Evergreen cemetery.
