Lawrence Michael "Mike" Capps 69 of Elba, AL passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Elba Country Club on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Private burial will be in the Danley's Cross Roads Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, May 13th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Elba Country Club Men's Golf Association, c/o Colby Capps, 322 Yelverton Street, Elba, Alabama 36323.

A beloved member of Elba, Mike will be remembered for his dedication to the Elba Country Club where he served as the golf course supervisor for many years. His knowledge and skill maintaining the course was second to none. He was respected for his meticulous attention to detail and always strived to offer the best turf around. He was active in Elba sports and could be found on the sidelines behind the camera trying to capture the moment to share with others through various avenues including the Elba Clipper where he was credited for the memories he captured. He was a devoted dad and grandfather, and a cherished friend to many.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Colby Capps, daughter-in-law, Nichole Capps, granddaughter, Cate Capps, and grandson, Cole Capps all Elba, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Hazel King Capps, and Lawrence Fielder "Bo" Capps, along with his wife Brenda Capps.
