Nancy Carnley Morrow departed this life peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. Martin's In the Pines in Birmingham, Alabama. On the previous day, she celebrated her 82nd birthday.

Nancy was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the eldest child of Judge S. Fleetwood and Mary T. Carnley, both natives of Elba, Alabama. She was a 1958 graduate of Elba High School and attended Judson College, where she studied home economics. In 1960 she married Paul C. Morrow of Elba. Her marriage to Paul was a lifelong affectionate partnership that extended 57 years. Nancy was devoted to the conscientious management of her household and the compassionate caregiving of Paul and their three boys. Her genteel manner will be missed almost as much as her outstanding cooking. To Nancy, the word "family" included a very large number of beloved relatives. This extended further to her Elba community, and she loved her friends and neighbors as deeply as her own family. We loved her because she loved us so much.

Over the years, she served in dozens of civic programs, such as Library Board, Vacation Bible School, Athletic Boosters, Band Boosters, and church committees. But she was always comfortable working 'behind the scenes' and never needed to be the center of attention. A lifelong true believer, she gave herself fully to Jesus Christ. His light shined in this world through her loyal friendship, her sweet soul and her gentle spirit. Her faith provided a quiet strength and courage that especially inspired her family.

Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home beginning at 2pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022, with the funeral service to follow beginning at 3pm. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Elba, AL. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Ham United Methodist Church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Morrow, her parents, S. Fleetwood and Mary T. Carnley, and her brother, Terry D. Carnley.
