R. V. "Pete" Nelson, age 82, a resident of Elba, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Pete will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose life was marked by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a deep commitment to those he loved. He was the kind of man who always went the extra mile to ensure his family's needs were met, often putting others before himself without hesitation.

His mind was a vault of knowledge, and he could recall details and solutions with remarkable clarity. To those who knew him, Pete was not only a problem-solver but a genuine friend—steady, dependable, and true.
