Ricky Augustus Farris age 66 died at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva, Alabama on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 due to complications from a stroke. Ricky was born November 30th, 1956 in Elba, Alabama. Ricky graduated from Elba High School in 1975, known for his compassion, kindness, and humor. As his grandchildren would say, "best granddad in the whole world". Ricky was a faithful man and a member of the First Baptist Church in Elba, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am with Rev. Kit Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Survivors include the love of his life for 38 years, Mary Farris, daughter, Carrie (Grady) Fuller of New Brockton, Alabama, son, Casey (Julie) Farris of Enterprise, Alabama, grandchildren, Colton Fuller, Cassie Fuller, and Clayton Fuller, Brother, Terry W. (Vickie) Farris, of Elba, AL, Brother, Jimmy N. (Debbie) Farris of Conyers, GA, nieces, Susan Stepherson and Terry Ann Stout, nephews, David C. Macon, Lee Brooks, Wade Kindred, niece, Kenndy Brooks, sister-in-law, Dale Boswell Turner, Aunts, JoAnn Parker and Hugh Parker, of Elba, Alabama, aunt, Trixie Farris, of Opp, Alabama and many great nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Miriam Farris and Father and Mother -in - Law, Q.P. Boswell and Lillian Wise Boswell.
Ricky's children and grandchildren would like to express this quote to the sweetest man (Rick), "You will walk again, you will talk again, and we shall meet again, but until then, continue to be our angel, our moral compass, and always in our hearts".
