Robert Lindsey Grimes of Owens Cross Roads, AL departed this life Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Huntsville, AL. He was 80 years old. Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Randy Tanner officiating. Committal services will follow in the Danley's Cross Roads Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Born in Elba, Alabama to Haywood and Laura Grimes, Robert was a long time resident of Anniston, AL. He graduated from The University of Alabama and was a Roll Tide fan the rest of his life. He served 22 years in the Air Force National Guard and was a supporter of all those who served in the military. Mr. Grimes was Northeast Alabama District Manager for World Book/Childcraft and after retirement he entertained staff and customers at Dillard's in Oxford, Alabama.  However, for many years one of his favorite endeavors was working with the Kindergarten Sunday School Class at Golden Springs Baptist Church.  He is remembered as a friendly, compassionate and cheerful man, as well as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include: Wife - Judy Catherine Grimes, Owens Cross Roads, AL, Daughter - Melba Suzanne (John) Kelley, Anniston, AL, Daughter - Melanie Shannon (Craig) Smith, Huntsville, AL, Grandson - Benjamin Kelley, Anniston, AL, Grandson - Clayton Smith, Huntsville, AL, Granddaughter - Rose Smith, Huntsville, AL, Brother-in-Law - Randy (Darlene) Allen, Clanton, AL.

Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his Father - Haywood Lindsey Grimes, Mother - Laura Lucille Grimes, and Daughter - Laura Kristen Grimes,
