Obituary

Seth Douglas Snellgrove went to Heaven on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 while he was a patient at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.  Seth was born in Tampa, Florida on June 16, 1950.  He was lovingly adopted by Seth Elisha and Nell Wilson Snellgrove two weeks later and became part of their family in the Ozark, Alabama area.  "Momma Nell" passed away when Seth was six years of age.  Following her death, his father married Ruth Roberts and she became Seth's mom.  Seth graduated from Carroll High School in 1968.  He graduated from The University of Montevallo in May of 1971 with Highest Honors.  He then received his M.B.A. from The University of Alabama in August of 1972.  Upon graduation, he began his 52-year career in sales and marketing.  He enjoyed serving numerous customers throughout most of those years by operating his own business.

Seth married Rebecca Alean Morrow on March 10, 1973. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last year. They enjoyed living and working in Montgomery, Alabama throughout their married life.  They attended Evangel Church in Montgomery where Seth served as a deacon, treasurer and teacher at Evangel.

Seth was preceded in death by his parents, Seth and Nell Snellgrove and Ruth Snellgrove.  He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law Shelby T. Morrow; his mother-in-law Edna D. Morrow; two brothers-in-law Paul C. Morrow and James Harold Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Nancy C. Morrow

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers-in-law Shelby T. (Edna) Morrow, Jr., Henry F. Morrow, and Phillip L. Morrow, and a sister-in-law Faye M. Johnson. He also survived by four nephews and their wives Joseph Morgan Morrow (Kathy), Paul Mason Morrow (Susan), James Harold Johnson, Jr. (Christy) and Matthew Carnley Morrow (Katie).  He is also survived by nine great nephews and nieces.  He is also survived by a host of friends and business associates.

A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Elba, Alabama on Saturday, June 1, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am. After which the family will receive guest at the home of Bru and Byron Parker 1059 Highway 141 Elba, AL 36323.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Evangel Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made in Seth's memory to the Missions Fund at Evangel Church, 3975 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36106 or to the charity of your choice.
