Vernette H. Maddox 82 of Elba, AL departed this life Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Funeral services will be held from First Baptist Church of Elba on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Robert Paul and Rev. Kit Johnson officiating. Committal services will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens cemetery. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Elba on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Mrs. Vernette was an educator for over 30 years with the Coffee County school systems.

Survivors include: Daughter - Melissa M Glavan, Enterprise, AL, Son - J Michael (Rhonda) Maddox, Dothan, AL, Grandson - Garett Maddox, Dothan, AL, Grandson - Trey Glavan, Enterprise, AL, Sister - Sue Parker, Wetumpka, AL.

Vernette was preceded in death by her Husband - James T. Maddox, Mother - Lois Kendrick Hudson, Father - James Arthur Hudson, and Brother - Johnny Hudson.
