Wanda Shirley of New Brockton Passed away Wednesday, May 26th. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 29, 2021 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with a private committal service following. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Hayes Funeral Home.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Merrill Shirley, sons, Griffin Shirley (kelli) Dothan; LeHill Shirley (Brianna) New Brockton, and daughter Mandy Mundy (Hoover).

Wanda grew up in Jacksonville, NC and graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. In Spanish and French and Master's degree In English. She taught High School Spanish, French, and English in Alabama High Schools and the last 15 years she volunteered as a teacher teaching Home School student Spanish and French.

Wanda was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a member of a Garden Club and a longtime member of the New Brockton Herb club. She was also On the Beautification Committee for the town of New Brockton.

Her best job ever tho was being MaMarie to her 5 grandchildren whom she taught to cook pancakes, cookies and loved reading stories to them before bedtime. Laura Beth and Abby Mundy, Elsie and Lottie Shirley, and Lincoln Shirley. Mamarie loved y'all b est.

Wanda had 5 brothers and sisters. Brenda Roberts (Ted) and Joe Thomas of New Brockton. Doyle (Sharon) Thomas Brunswick, Ga; Sandra Crumbliss and Angela Metcalf of St. Simons Isle, Ga.
