William Harold "Bill" Peters 87 of Elba, Alabama passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 7, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donnie Marler and Rev. Mack King officiating. Burial will follow in Rosin Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday morning, May 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Bill will be remembered as a faithful friend who was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed farm life, and could easily be found tending cows, raking hay, or near the barn with his horse. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was also an active Mason for over 65 years. He will receive Masonic grand funeral honors at the conclusion of the graveside service.
He is survived by his Wife - Faye Peters, Elba, AL, Daughter - Barbara Anne Peters, Fort Pierce, FL, Daughter - Rebecca "Becky" Lynn (David) Owens, Ponce De Leon, FL, Son - John Daniel (Kim) Peters, Fort Pierce, FL, Son - William Harold Peters, II, Vero Beach, FL, along with a Brother - Ronnie K. Peters of Elba, Alabama. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Katie Bell Sara "Louisa" Jane Kelley Peters, and J.D. Peters, along with a daughter, Kathy Peters.
